Dog to dog reactivity is a huge topic. It is something that many people are dealing with. And whether you have a reactive dog or are someone encountering a reactive dog, it is important that we do what is best to keep ourselves and the dogs safe.
When we first adopted Athos, he was incredibly reactive to older men and select dogs. The stress is very real on both dog and handler. The journey we took on solving his reactivity and fear was what brought me away from using aversive methods and now only using the most up to date canine psychology and behavioural training and rehab methods.
Although solving reactivity cannot be done via a video, I wanted to talk a little about what to do both as the handler of a reactive dog, and as a handler with another dog who is the trigger.
